IHRIM was established in 1948, primarily as an educational body. Its objectives, then as now, were to provide qualifications at different levels as well as career and professional assistance for members. IHRIM members are now working in the fields of health records, information management, clinical coding and information governance.

IHRIM Stream at HC2012 – 2nd and 3rd May in London

IHRIM has been invited to hold a work stream at the high profile HC2012 Event being held in London 2nd and 3rd May 2012.    The theme for the stream will be ‘The Patient at the Heart of the Electronic Patient Record’ and it will run on the second day of the event.

 Confirmed speakers so far include

  • Marlene Winfield, Patient Advocate;
  • Professor Iain Carpenter, Health Informatics Unit, Royal College of Physicians;
  • Tony Cobain, Head of IM&T Assurance, Mersey Internal Audit Agency (with a specialist interest in Information Governance;
  • Dawn Monoghan, Strategic Liaison Group Manager at the Information Commissioner’s Office

 We plan to hold our Awards Ceremony at the event on 2nd May 2012 and all those attending will sign up as delegates to this event (free of charge) and will be able to visit the very impressive exhibition and skills zone.

 This is an incredible opportunity for IHRIM to be so visible at such a widely publicised annual event and we hope that you will be able to come along and support the Institute – so save that date in your diary.   Entry to the event, exhibition and skills zone (on both days) will be free but you do have to register in advance so watch out for information regarding that coming out from us in the New Year.
